Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

Program Outcomes

The arts undergraduate program is designed to achieve the following outcomes:

PO1. To put in place structure and contents to make it an integrated and interdisciplinary program with flexibility and choice.

PO2.To reflect a general understanding of the concepts and principles of selected areas of the study thus providing students an opportunity to decide the specialization fields for making professional choices.

PO3.To augment the ability to describe and compare the roles, impacts and ethical implications of ideas, texts, social movements and contemporary situations.

PO4.Acquire analytical skills and develop a critical understanding of social, political economic and cultural processes, to present materials and ideas effectively on order to connect between the local, regional and global.

PO5.To integrate the treatment of topics by interlinking knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to action.

PO6.To provide an arena for reflective thinking and concern for the common good and application of social values.

PO7.Produce graduates with a foundation in professional ethics who will actively seek to positively impact their profession, community, and society.

Programme Specific Outcomes

English Literature

PSO1. Students will gain awareness about diversified and best literary traditions of the world. All the great texts that a learner studies will expand his/her range of experience and in turn will broaden their perspective on life.

PSO2. Acquisition of values is needed for self development and social transformation which the study of Literature will instill in students and help them emerge as better human beings.

PSO3. The study of Literature will enhance their reading, writing, speaking, listening- skills, ability to instruct and convey information accurately in a variety of formats.

PSO4. Students will become potentially better with their knowledge on writing skills and finesse, there will be possibilities of them emerging as perspective writers, editors, content developers and teachers.

PSO5. Students need to be familiar with representative literary and cultural texts within a significant number of historical, geographical, and cultural contexts.

PSO6. Students will be able to apply critical and theoretical approaches to the reading and analysis of literary and cultural texts in multiple genres.

PSO7. Students will be able to identify, analyze, interpret and describe the critical ideas, values, and themes that appear in literary and cultural texts and understand the way these ideas, values, and themes inform and shape culture and society, both now and in the past.

PSO8. Students will gain the talent  to write analytically in a variety of formats, including essays, research papers, reflective writing, and critical reviews of secondary sources.

PSO9. Students will be able to ethically gather, understand, evaluate and synthesize information from a variety of written and electronic sources.

PSO10. Students will be able to understand the process of communicating and interpreting human experiences through literary representation using historical contexts and disciplinary methodologies.

Functional English

PSO1. Students will become perceptive while using correct English and will grow to be potentially better speakers.

PSO2. Students will develop their critical thinking that would enable them to present their views and opinions freely at all public platforms.

PSO3. Language proficiency will polish their soft skills essentially required in the contemporary scenario.

PSO4. Students will develop a range of subject specific and transferable skills, including high order conceptual, literary and communication skills of value in graduate studies and/or employment.

PSO5. Language competency will help them become concept writers, facilitators, editors, counselors, soft skill trainers, voice trainers etc.

Hindi Literature

On completion of B.A. with Hindi Literature, students will be able to:

PSO1. Understand the interrelation between literature and society and analyze the role played by Hindi Literature in the past and the present .

PSO2. Understand and explain the nature of  hindi language and literature.

PSO3. Understand the philosophy of life and get inspired by the vision of eminent writers.

PSO4. Enhance critical skills  of literary writing and develop literary research  attitude .

PSO5. Develop  reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

PSO6. Enhance skills of literary criticism.

PSO7.  Develop the art of illustrating literary forms like one-act-play and short story.

Functional Hindi

On completion of the course, students are able to:

PSO1.Understand the meaning, concept and importance of Functional Hindi and its application.

PSO2. Understand various forms of Functional Hindi according to its area of application in advertising and journalism.

PSO3. Understand the importance of translation.

PSO4. Develop  the skill of writing official letters.

PSO5. Understand the concepts of linguistic.

PSO6.Understand the different flows of Hindi language (Rajbhasha).

PSO7. Understand various forms of writing in media.


PSO1: Economics leads to careers in business, law, education, banking, insurance, journalism, public policy, diplomacy, environmental science, international affairs and in research and consultancy.

PSO2: It is an important subject opted for different competitive exams i.e. Indian Economic Services (IES), Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Banking, National Sample Survey, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NITI Aayog etc.

PSO3: Students will  develop the ability to apply theoretical knowledge of Micro and Macro Economics  to explain the behavior of individuals, businesses and industries in market-based systems and analyze the challenges of developing economies.

PSO4: The study will help in enhancing numerical and computing ability and will also help in developing presentation skills.

PSO5:  It will enhance the ability to analyze economic behavior in practice.

PSO6: Students will be able to effectively communicate economic ideas to solve the various economic problems.

PSO7: Students will acquire problem solving skills and develop a logical way of dealing with various economic issues.

PSO8: Students will be able to explain the role of the government in the economy, including taxation, expenditure and production. They will also be able to analyze the impact of fiscal and monetary policy in the economy.


Students   successfully completing the B.A. programme with History will develop skills, competencies, and knowledge  which  will enable them to achieve their expected goals in future.

PSO1. Students will demonstrate knowledge of the chronology, narrative, major events,personalities and turning points of ancient, medieval and modern history.

PSO2. Students will be  able to understand major historical developments based on  contextualized analysis of interrelated political, social, economic, cultural and intellectual processes.

PSO3. Students will be able to accurately extract evidence from secondary  sources by analyzing and evaluating them in relation to their cultural and historical context  and use that evidence to build and support an argument.

PSO4. Students will be able to evaluate historical sources by analyzing them in relation to the evidence that supports them, their theoretical frameworks and other secondary historical literature.

PSO5. Students will learn to understand the world contextually, that is, to interpret human experiences and the meanings people have given them in relationship to the place and time in which they occurred.

PSO7. Students will learn to explain how and why important events happen and change occurs over time .

PSO8. Students will learn the general course of human history in multiple areas of the world.

Political Science

PSO 1: The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science prepares graduate to understand fundamental concepts in the discipline of Political Science.

PSO 2: Understanding of how political institutions, processes, laws, and ideas combine to influence policy and political outcomes.

PSO 3: Understand and explain political theories and political systems in different parts of world.

PSO 4: Understand the political system of India including the structure and relationship between different branches of government.

PSO 5: Understand National and International political matters.

PSO 6: Graduates can have many opportunities for careers in Psephology, Political Content Writer, Academician, Public Administrator, PR Executive Public relations.

Bachelor of Science (Mathematics group)

Program Objectives:

  • To give conceptual knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of sciences.
  • To prepare students to go for higher education and research as a career.
  • To develop employability skills and entrepreneurship.

Program Outcomes: After completion of the programme, the student is able to do

  • Analysis, investigation and synthesis of organic and inorganic compounds.
  • Handling of instruments like spectrophotometer, CRO etc.
  • Comprehend computer architecture, network, data structure, database management system and various web based and application based programming languages.
  • Apply the basics of various electronic components like diode, transistor etc., graphical data analysis and interpretation, use of concepts of digital fundamental, memory system and various electronic components,
  • Understand different computer hardware component including purpose and functions of an operating systems and will be able to troubleshoot various electronic equipments
  • Develop logical and analytical thinking, problem solving skill.

Bachelor of Science (Bio group)

Academic  Competence

  • Disciplinary knowledge and understanding of fundamentals and principles of Chemistry and allied subjects.
  • To develop concepts of wide range of organic, inorganic, physical, analytical and spectroscopic techniques in chemistry.

Entrepreneurship  Skills

  • To develop basic professional skills in specific areas in Chemistry such as spectral analysis, inorganic and organic synthesis, estimation and characterization, physical practical data evaluation and formulation of result through proper calculations and hands on experience of usage of instruments like spectrophotometer, conductivity bridge, polarimeter, CRO and others.
  • To promote team work and time management in organizing and working in a chemistry laboratory.
  • To promote experiential learning by carrying out laboratory oriented chemistry practicals such as synthesis of complexes, inorganic and organic mixture analysis, gravimetric analysis, spectroscopic techniques and others.

Institutional Social Responsibility

  • To follow the 3 R’s – Reduce, Recycle and Reuse and promote the 12 principles of Green Chemistry in the laboratory.
  • To sensitize the use of biodegradable, cost efficient , environment friendly and green chemicals and procedures.

PG Chemistry

Academic Competence

  • To impart and inculcate broad knowledge of fundamentals and principles of Chemistry and different sub disciplines.
  • Establish a firm foundation in the application of current chemical and scientific theories to chemical problems.

 Academic Excellence

  • To provide disciplinary knowledge of Biotechnology subject to the students, the course is well versed with diversified topics like immunology, recombinant DNA technology, plant tissue culture, biochemistry, Molecular Biology, zoological nomenclature, classification, developmental stages, economical importance of lower and higher invertebrates, haematology, histology of mammals, aquaculture, chemical nomenclature, structure, reactivity, and function in their specific field of chemistry.
  • To equip the students with theoretical and practical aspects of some industrially important chemical compounds and conceptual understanding of phase equilibrium, electrochemistry, thermodynamics and their applications in allied field.

Entrepreneurship Skills

  • To enable students to apply and extend their knowledge and understanding of subject to experimental learning and critical thinking on laboratory reagents, the proper handling of chemical waste, aseptic procedures for isolation and identification of microorganisms, biochemical analysis of micro and macromolecules, water and soil analysis etc
  • To enhance employability the course focuses on skill development and enhancement in specific areas such as plant tissue culture, molecular diagnostics, microbiology, aquaculture, rearing of industrially important insects and others.

Program Outcomes:

Students will have understanding of PC organization, Networks and Cloud Computing. They will develop programming and logic development skills of multiple programming languages. They will also have hand on experience on various web technologies and ethics.

Program Specific Outcomes:

Students will be prepared to make their career in the IT segments like Software services, Business Process Management (BPM/BPO), Technical support engineer, Content developer, Programmer and freelancing. Students can also appear for various competitive exams including IT officers in various organizations and can pursue for higher studies.

Bachelor of Commerce


PO – 1: After completing three years  Bachelors in Commerce (B.Com) program, students would gain a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of Commerce and Finance.

PO – 2: The commerce and finance focused curriculum offers a number of specializations and practical exposures which would equip the student to face the modern-day challenges in commerce and business.

PO -3: The all-inclusive outlook of the course offer a number of value based and job oriented

courses ensuring that students are professionally trained.

A).      B. Com Applied Economics

PSO –1: Students will be able to recognize features and roles of businessmen, entrepreneur, managers, which will help them to possess knowledge and other soft skills and to respond  aptly when confronted with critical decision making in business.

PSO –2: After the completion of programme, students will be ready for employment in functional areas like Accounting, Taxation, Business, Banking, Insurance and Corporate Law.

PSO – 3: The student pursuing this program will be competent in Applied Economics and get exposed to the details of varied areas of Economics thus making it easier to acquire leadership and managerial role in the financial sector.

PSO – 4: Leaners will gain subject skills within various disciplines of commerce like  business, accounting, economics, finance, auditing and marketing.


PSO–5: Leaners will acquire the skills like effective business communication, decision making,

problem solving in day to day business affaires

PSO – 6: Learners will be able to do higher education and advance research in the field of

commerce and finance. B.Com. graduates can pursue Post Graduate Studies like M.Com, MBA, ICWA, ISCI, etc.

B).      B.Com Tax Procedure and Practice

PSO – 1: Students will be able to demonstrate progressive learning of various tax issues and tax forms related to individuals. Students will accquire knowledge in setting up a computerized set of ‘books of accounts’.

PSO – 2: Learners will also possess practical skills to work as tax consultant, audit assistant and take up roles in other financial supporting services.

PSO – 3: Students will learn relevant financial accounting skills, applying both quantitative and qualitative knowledge in their future careers in business.

PSO – 4: Learners will be able to recognise features and roles as Tax consultants, businessmen, entrepreneur and managers. The course will help them to react aptly when confronted with critical decision making in their careers.

PSO -5: Learners will be able to  engage in professional exams like CA, CMA, CFA and other competitive exams.

PSO -6 The student will get exposed to the practical aspects of direct and indirect tax thus making easier to acquire managerial role, leadership and research in the field of commerce and taxation.

C).      B.Com Computer Application

PSO-1: Learners will be able to solve problems using computer programming and getting familiar with the fundamentals concepts of computers

PSO-2: Learners will acquire the skills in modular programming, object oriented programming and web page programming.

PSO -3: Learners will be able to do higher education and advance research in the field of computer application and information technology





The learner who completes three years undergraduate program in B.Com (Hons) would earn an Honours degree in Commerce. The learning outcomes that a student should be able to demonstrate on completion of this Hons degree level program would involve Accounting, Business Management and Skill based competencies. After completion of the programme the students demonstrate skills of accounting, management and develop such professional values which are useful for society and business.
