Workshop Organised
“Workshop on Research Excellence, Methodology, Ethics and Digital Tools”
On 4 April 2026, Library of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Jabalpur organized a workshop on the topic “Research Excellence, Methodology, Ethics and Digital Tools.” The objective of this workshop was to provide students with knowledge about research writing, research ethics and the use of modern technological tools. The program began with an inaugural address by Vice Principal Dr. Kallol Das. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Fr. J. Ben Anton Rose. The main speakers of the workshop were Dr. Kiran Mishra (Head, Department of Education), Dr. Ashu Jain (Coordinator, Department of Commerce), and Dr. Archana Dubey (Chief Librarian). Detailed lectures were delivered on topics related to the research process, research methodology, research ethics, and various technological tools. A total of 79 students enthusiastically participated in the workshop. The program was hosted by Mr. Jatin Anand, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Varnika Gupta. The successful organization of the event was supported significantly by the library committee, including Dr. Tuhina Johri, Dr. Amita Chhatri, Dr. Abhilasha Shukla, Mrs. Sonam Yadav, Mrs. Upasana Patel, Ved Raghuvanshi, Raju, Sharmila, Joseph, Anwar.

The St Aloysius College Library organized a workshop on E- resources from 17/12/2024 to 19/12/2024 at 2:30 P.M. for inculcating its knowledge among the students and newly appointed teachers. The programme was mainly aimed at encouraging the students of Bachelors of Education and Post Graduate students to broaden their scope of understanding. It was successfully implemented under the guidance of the Principal Fr. Ben Antoine Rose, Dr.K.Das, Dr.Archana Dubey, Dr.Tuhina Johri and the library committee.
The programme gave an insight to the students on the way to access information from various e- resources available like Del Net, N-List, The American Library, Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) and National Digital Library of India, encompassing both free and paid resources and the procedure to use them.
The session concluded with an exchange of ideas and a creative question answer discussion session.
The event was highly appreciated by the attendees for its ability to enhance their future prospect

Workshop on Drillbit Plagiarism Software 2024
The St.Aloysius Library organized a workshop on Drillbit Plagiarism Software on 17/12/2024 at 12:30 PM.The college has subscribed to the Drillbit software and workshops are being organized for the same from time to time to spread its information to both the newly appointed teachers and the Post Graduate students.The workshops are aimed to encourage students and teachers involved in the research sphere, writing thesis, journals and research papers, so that they can effectively use these services of the library to enhance the quality of their research work, detect the percentage of AI Generated content, check grammatical errors and give a proof of authenticity to the readers. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Archana Dubey and Dr. Tuhina Johri. The programme was appreciated by the attendees for its usefulness in research purposes.

Workshop on EPWRF Indian Time Series Data Base 2023
Orientation Programme on EPWRF Indian Time Series Database
The St. Aloysius College Library organized an Orientation Programme for teachers and students on the Economic and Political Weekly Research Foundation (EPWRF) Indian Time Series Database on 24th February 2023 in the Conference Room. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Bipin K. Deokar (Sr. Deputy Director, EPWRF, Mumbai).
The programme was conducted in an online mode and was attended by more than 200 teachers and students. Mr. Bipin Deokar provided a detailed explanation of how to access data from the database and emphasized its importance in academic and research activities.
The session was highly informative and concluded with a question-and-answer session, where participants had the opportunity to clear their doubts and gain further insights.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Archana Dubey, Librarian, with support from the Deputy Manager of EPWRF.
Lecture on Plagiarism 2022
The St. Aloysius College Library organized a lecture program on Plagiarism for all postgraduate students on 19th October 2022 in the Digital Library Lab, with the assistance of the Librarian and Library Committee. The speakers for the session were Ms. Archana Dubey and Ms. Neha Mahawar.
Ms. Archana Dubey introduced the concept of plagiarism, its significance, and its consequences. She emphasized the importance of understanding plagiarism while writing research papers or books. Additionally, she provided information about various plagiarism detection tools, both free and paid, and how they can be used effectively.
Ms. Neha Mahawar focused on how to write research papers properly and how to reference books or online resources accurately. She discussed the importance of taking precautions when citing materials and explained strategies to minimize plagiarism in academic writing.
The lecture was highly informative and well-received by the attendees.
Book Exhibition on Remarkable Days
A two-day Book Exhibition was organised at the Library of St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur on 26–27 September 2025. The exhibition was conducted under the joint auspices of Universal Books and Stationers, Vinay Pustak Sadan, and Read and Rent.
Objectives:
- To develop reading interest among students
- To reduce excessive dependence on mobile devices
- To provide exposure to academic, competitive, and general knowledge books
Summary:
The exhibition proved highly beneficial for both students and faculty members, offering access to a wide range of quality academic and inspirational reading materials at one place. Books related to competitive examinations, academic subjects, general knowledge, motivation, and spirituality were displayed.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Fr. J. Ben Anton Rose, in the presence of the Vice Principal and Heads of Departments. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Archana Dubey with the support of the library committee members and staff.

15 अगस्त: स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन
स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में संत अलॉयसियस महाविद्यालय पुस्तकालय द्वारा 15 अगस्त 2023 से 18 अगस्त 2023 तक एक पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया।
इस प्रदर्शनी में स्वतंत्रता संग्राम, राष्ट्रीय नेता, महान व्यक्तित्व और स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों से संबंधित पुस्तकों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। इन पुस्तकों में उन व्यक्तियों की कहानियाँ शामिल थीं, जिन्होंने राजनीतिक और सामाजिक क्षेत्र में राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर ख्याति अर्जित की है तथा अपने योगदान से देश और समाज को प्रेरित किया है।
प्रदर्शनी का मुख्य उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों को इस विशेष संग्रह के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान करना और पुस्तकों के प्रति उनकी रुचि बढ़ाना था। यह आयोजन बेहद सफल रहा, जिसमें 400 विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन किया।
- National Science Day (C.V. Raman Week Celebration) 2022
On the occasion of National Science Day, St. Aloysius College Library celebrated C.V. Raman Week. To mark this event, an exhibition was organized from 28th February 2022 to 6th March 2022.
The exhibition featured a diverse collection of science books to raise awareness among students about the variety of resources available in the library. The event aimed to provide knowledge to students from various streams, encouraging cross-disciplinary learning.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the College Principal and Vice Principal. Teachers and students actively participated in the event and appreciated the effort.

- Women’s Day Week Celebration 2022
Women’s Week was celebrated from 8th March 2022 to 13th March 2022 in the Library of St. Aloysius College on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
As part of the celebration, the librarians organized a book exhibition featuring literature on various aspects of women’s lives, achievements, and contributions. The display aimed to highlight the significance of women in society and provide valuable resources to inspire readers.
Teachers and students visited the library, explored the collection, and gained insights into the available resources. The exhibition was well-received and served as an informative initiative.
- Hindi Divas 2022
हिंदी दिवस पर पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन
14 सितंबर, 2022 को हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में संत अलॉयसियस महाविद्यालय पुस्तकालय में हिंदी साहित्य की पुस्तकों की एक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया। इस प्रदर्शनी का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्र-छात्राओं को हिंदी भाषा और साहित्य की विभिन्न पुस्तकों से परिचित कराना और भाषा के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना था।
इस अवसर पर महाविद्यालय के शिक्षकों और विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन किया। उन्होंने पुस्तकालय में उपलब्ध हिंदी साहित्य की पुस्तकों की जानकारी प्राप्त की और प्रदर्शनी की सराहना की।

- Human Right’s day 2022
मानवाधिकार दिवस पर पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन
मानवाधिकार दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में संत अलॉयसियस महाविद्यालय पुस्तकालय में 10 दिसंबर 2022 से 14 दिसंबर 2022 तक मानवाधिकार से संबंधित पुस्तकों की प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया।
इस प्रदर्शनी का मुख्य उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों को मानवाधिकार विषय पर उपलब्ध पुस्तक संग्रह से परिचित कराना था। महाविद्यालय के शिक्षकों और विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन किया। यह प्रदर्शनी विशेष रूप से बी.ए. और एम.ए. राजनीति शास्त्र के विद्यार्थियों के लिए लाभप्रद रही।
प्रदर्शनी का शुभारंभ महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य डॉ. वर्लन अरासु ने किया।
Orientation Programme (Session 2023-24)
The library organized an orientation programme for first-year students, aiming to familiarize them with library resources, services, and regulations.
Highlights of the Programme:
- Presentation by Ms. Alchanar Dubey Delivered comprehensive information about the Library and Reading Room.Explained the variety of books and collections available.Shared details about online and offline resources, library services, and different sections of the library. Highlighted library rules, circulation processes, and facilities like the Book Bank.
- Session by Mr. Prakash Lange Provided insights into the Digital Library and its vast collection. Explained how to access the Digital Library and its benefits for students.
The programme aimed to help students make the most of library facilities and resources during their academic journey.
