One day workshop on Advertisement and Sales Promotion
The Department of Economics has organized a Workshop on ‘Advertisement and Sales Promotion’ on 14th September 2024. The session was addressed by Mr. Suresh Asawa, Director, S.S. Advertising Pvt. Ltd. The workshop focused on various strategies of marketing and marketing tools. The resource person pointed out various ways to attract targeted customers. The session was enriched by the real-life examples of Marketing and sales promotion. At the end of the session there was a fruitful interaction with the students. About 79 students were benefitted from the workshop and many were selected for internship.
Environment Awareness Program
Under the banner of Economic Forum on 29th August,2024, the Department of Economics in collaboration with Kadam Foundation organized an Environment Awareness Program. The program began with the plantation of 7349th sampling of Ashoka Pendula in Civic Centre Park at 10am. Kadam Foundation has been conducting the Plantation Program since last 21 years. The students participated in various activities such as song, speech and poem to evoke the sense of responsibility towards the environment. The students also organized a small quiz to spread awareness about the environment and for its preservation. UNION BUDGET DISCUSSION 2024-25
The Department of Economics has organized Union Budget Discussion 2024-25 on 31 July, 2024. The main objective was to enhance student’s understanding of the Union Budget, its implications and foster critical thinking on budgetary policy. It even improved student’s presentation abilities. Various Students participated actively in the Budget Discussion. During the discussion 3 groups of students covered various aspects like India’s Economic Growth, Core Inflation, Inclusive Human Resource Development and Social Justice, Vikasit Bharat, Infrastructure development etc. The participants were Mahima Anthony, Shikha Mishra, Sania Chouhan, Anjali Bhojak, Archi Bhojak, Kartik Satnami, Karishma Batheja, Sonali Mishra, Geetanjali, Deepika Mishra and Anant Sharma.
Report on Health Awareness Program on Women Issues
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women Cell and Department of Economics of St. Aloysius College, in collaboration with the Ahamikshana Foundation, organized a impactful Health Awareness Program focusing on women’s issues on 9th March, 2024. Ms. Shreya Kulhara, Founder of Ahamikshana Foundation, delivered an enlightening talk on Women Health Issues. The program, spearheaded by teachers Dr. Anthonima Robin (In charge of Women Cell), Dr. Archana Pasari and Ms. Yashica Choudhary, received support from dedicated student volunteers including Anushree Soni, Aditi Agarwal, Simran, Anushka Soni and Malvika Agrawal. With a focus on women’s health, the event successfully educated and benefitted 156 individuals, showcasing the collective commitment of the college and Ahamikshana Foundation towards promoting well-being and addressing women’s issues
Inter-college speech competition
An inter-college speech competition was organized by the Department of Economics on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12th January 2024. The speech competition titled “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: Swami Vivekanand’s Influence on Global Economic Cooperation” aimed at educating and creating awareness amongst the youth about the teachings of Swami Vivekanand in uniting the world. The speech competition focused on Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts as the harbinger of harmony and tolerance and its influence on economic cooperation of the globe to make world “One Earth, one family, one future”. Total 25 students from various colleges enthusiastically participated. The winners of the competition were- Kushagreedeep of St. Aloysius’( Autonomous), Jabalpur stood 1st , Devika Gore and Anushka Soni of St. Aloysius’( Autonomous), Jabalpur stood 2nd and Subodh Kumar of St. Aloysius Institute of Technology, Jabalpur stood 3rd.The program coordinators were Saniya Chouhan, Archi Bhojak, Anjali Bhojak, Unnati Choudhary, Jagrati Pachori, Anushree Soni and Vanshika Shrivas.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Department of Economics organized an Industrial visit on 17TH February 2024 at Udaipur Beverages Ltd. and Sadhana Packaging Pvt. Ltd. located at Richhai Industrial area for the students of UG and PG. The industrial visit was carried out for enhancing practical and industrial knowledge. 45 students were updated with the latest business environment. The main objective of the visit was to make student aware about practical skills regarding logistic and documentation and other entrepreneurship activities.
ANNUAL BUDGET DISCUSSION 2024
The Department of Economics has organised Annual Budget Discussion 2024 on 3rd February, 2024. The main objective was to help our students understand and analyse budget and apply this knowledge to achieve their financial targets. Various Students from UG and PG participated actively in the Budget Discussion. One-day Workshop on Graphics Designing
On 7thOctober 2023, the Department of Economics organized one-day workshop on Graphics Designing in Advertisement as a part of add-on course ‘Advertisement and Sales Promotion’. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Elbert Ambrose (Alumni of St. Aloysius’ College), Director, Ambrose Satellite Services and Mr. Aryan Verma, Assistant Manager, Ambrose Satellite Services. The session was enriched by the practical application of use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in web designing and the making of flipbook magazine. The students worked on the flipbook of the college premise. Around 87 students attended the workshop.
Environment Awareness Program
Under the banner of Economic Forum,on 30th September,2023, the Department of Economics in collaboration with Kadam Foundation organized an Environment Awareness Program. The program began with the plantation of a sampling of Ashoka Pendula. The students participated in various activities such as skit and poem to evoke the sense of responsibility of society to preserve the environment for the sustainability of the mankind. The students who participated enthusiastically are Kartik Gond, Aditya Puranik, Amit Chourasia, Vaishnavi Shrivastava, Ayushi Vaishnav, Khushi Ben, Ebenazer N. Benjamin and Amit Kumar Chourasiya.
Guest Lecture on Advertisement and Sales Promotion
On 16th September 2023, the Department of Economics organized a guest lecture on ‘Advertisement and Sales Promotion’. The session was addressed by Mr. Suresh Asawa, Director, S.S. Advertising Pvt. Ltd. The discussion on the role of advertisement in promoting the sales, customer targeting and the importance of marketing took place. The session was enriched by the real-life examples of Marketing and sales promotion. The session ended with the interaction with the students. About 65 students were benefitted from the lecture. The resource person offered one- year internship to 5 students (Sheetal Rajput, Nazir Ansari, Aditya Jain, Archi Jain and Sonali Mishra) and 15-days internship to the remaining students.
National Seminar
The Department of Economics organized a two-day National Seminar on “Prospectus of India towards Economic Integrity: Visulaization of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” on 21st -22nd July 2023, sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. The seminar constituted of four technical sessions divided into two days on various themes. Many eminent academicians, researchers, scholars and journalists from all over the nation participated through online and offline mode in this seminar. It aimed to act as an exchange platform for quality research papers and to facilitate in policy formulation. The seminar witnessed around 112 stakeholders alongwith eminent guests.
Celebration of National Statistical Day
On 29th June,2023, under the banner of Economic Forum, the Department of Economics in collaboration with National Statistical Office has organized a seminar on the occasion of National Statistical Day at Shawn Elizey, Jabalpur. The eminent speakers deliberated lectures on the importance of statistics at all levels-domestic and global. The awareness has been spread about the Statistics as a subject matter among the students and encouraged them to study the same. - On 7th February 2023 Under the banner of Economic Forum, the department of Economics organised a field visit to three villages -Saliwada, Pindrayi and Padariya where a group of 52 students conducted a field survey based on the various government schemes availed by the village households .The students also performed a street play on ‘Beti Bachao’ and spread awareness about the government schemes available for them. - Under the banner of Economics Forum, Economics Awareness Programme was organized by the Department of Economics of St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur on 18th January,2023. The main purpose of conducting this programme was to enable the students to deepen their understanding on the economic issues which affect their lives and helps to develop the skills of communication, analysis and personality building. The programme also aimed to spread awareness among the students with regard to carrier option with Economics as the subject. The programme was conducted at Cantonment Khalsa Higher Secondary School,Jabalpur. The students performed a street play, conducted a quiz and organized several games. Amit Mishra, Shruti Panjawani, Aditi Mishra, Ashutosh Tiwari, Tanya Bisht, Anushree Soni, Aishwariya Sahu , Harshita Dubey, Shruti Dubey, Sakshi Pandey, Sanjay Kashyap, Vaishali Yadav, Shreyansh Shrivastava, Muskan Karda, Nidhi Tiwari and Prateek Sondhiya were the students who actively participated in the event.
- On 14th January, 2023, the Department of Economics in collaboration with Kadam Foundation organized an Environment Awareness Program. The program began with the celebration of the plantation of 6756th plant. The students participated in various activities such as speech and poem which evokes the necessity and responsibility of humans to respect, protect, and preserve the natural world from its anthropogenic (caused by humans) afflictions. A street play was also organized to popularize “Go Green” and intended to spur humanity into taking proactive steps to protect the environment. These students enthusiastically participated. - A Nukkad Natak was organized by the Department of Economics on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12th January 2023. The Nukkad Natak was organized with the aim of educating and creating awareness amongst the youth about the teachings of Swami Vivekanand. The Nukkad Natak focused on three main themes- education, womanhood and influence of westernization. Swami Vivekanand is considered as the real youth icon, so this nukkad natak aimed at influencing the thinking and lifestyle of youth on the National Youth Day. Sharad Jaiswal, Sameer Diwedi, Unnati Rajak, Pratham Kushwaha, Vipasha Shivdasani, Vaishnavi Bansal, Sanjay Kashyap, Aditya Swami, Yuvraj Burman, Arun Mishra, Anushri Pathak, Jitasha Pahiya, Albar Aditi, Ankit Giri, Eisha Verma, Harsh Pasi, Prateek Sondhiya, Jagrati Pachori, Puneet Pandey ,Janvi Panjwani and other students of various classes sactively participated in the play.
- St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur organized a student exchange program on 12th July, 2022. 13 students from North America participated in this program. In which Dr. Nilanjana Pathak addressed the American students on “Stereotype, Discrimination and Prejudious in India” After that both, the students of India and America discussed about the orthodox cultural mindset and how we should overcome it. They have also discussed the Indian and American lifestyle, Education, Parenting basic cultural activities, science and a lot more about India and America. They also visited the campus and after that the cultural program was organized to showcase our diverse culture through cultural programs like Kathak Classical dance form, Lavani Folk Dance, Shastri Sangeet and old mythological Bollywood Songs. It was a wonderful experience.
- Under the banner of Economic Forum The Department of Economics organized an One Week Workshop on “Research Methodology and Application of SPSS for Data Analysis” for Final Year and Post Graduates students in all streams from 9th March to 15th March 2022. 52 participants from all over India attended the workshop. The Resource Person for the workshop was Dr. Jai Anand Shukul, Associate Dean (Management & Commerce) Mangalayatan University, Jabalpur. Dr. Shukul gave insight into how the statistical tools are used in research through SPSS.
- Under the banner of Economic Forum Economic Awareness Program was organized by the Department of Economics of St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur on the 15th and 22nd of February, 2022. The main purpose of conducting this awareness program was to enable students to deepen their understanding of the economic issues which shape their lives and to develop the transferable skills of communication, presentation, and general personal and social skills .The program was also aimed to spread awareness among the students with regard to carrier option related with the Economic as the subject. The program was conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya, CMM and Army public school No2 .The students conducted quiz, small skit and game also. - The Department of Economics organized a Poster Competition on “Economic Empowerment of Women” on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022. The aim of the celebration was to appreciate the Economic, Political, Social and Cultural achievements and contributions of Indian women from all walks of life. The names of the students were Harshita Rajak, Janvi Panjwani, Ayush Kosta, Priyanshi Ahirwar, Kumkum shekhawat, Aditi Mishra, Anamika Sharma, Amandeep Ghura and Neelam Mishra.

- A Nukkad Natak was organized by the Department of Economics on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12th January 2022. - The Department of Economics had organized an activity on the topic Farm Bill 2020 on 26th November 2021. It was an open discussion. The aim of the discussion was to provide knowledge on the farm bill and to keep them updated with current affairs. the discussion was started by and introduction which was given by Anurag Gautam , the farm bill consisted of three bills which were explained by Shubhra Jain Garhawal , Priyanshi Pandey and Rishika Bawariya respectively. The advantages and disadvantages were given by Mayur Vishwakarma and Ayush Singh . on moving on further on the topic the parliamentary procedure of the farm bill was explained by Parag Singh Parihar , why the farmers protested? The answer to this question was given by Aradhana Daheriya at the end the conclusion was given by Pravarth Asaiya , the power point presentation was made by Aparna Toppo. This discussion helped these 10 students to learn about the farm bill and improved there speaking skills.
- The Department of Economics had organized an Online UGC NET classes from 25th May to 5th June 2021. The aim of the course is an effort to continue the process of learning that encourages acquiring competencies and skills to develop future opportunities even in unfavorable pandemic conditions. The Guest Speakers were Mr. Vivek Pandey, Mr. Ravi Dwivedi (Gautam IAS Academy) and Dr. Gita Gulati Head, Dept. of Education, Mata Gujri Mahila Mahavidhyalaya, Jabalpur. The number of students benefitted by this course was 91.
- The Department of Economics had organized Online PowerPoint Presentation Competition on “Eminent Women Personality: Contribution towards Economy” on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2021. The aim of the celebration was to appreciate the Economic, Political, Social and Cultural achievements of women from all walks of life and their contribution in all Economic fields. In which the students have presented different views on Eminent Women Personality.
- The Department of Economics has organized a ‘Laghu Natika’ on the occasion of “Swami Vivekanand Jayanti ” on 12th January, 2021. The students depicted the massages given by Swami Viveknand. They also tried to poetry the Impact of Swami Vivekanand Teaching on youth. - The Department of Economics had organized Online Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development” from 15th June – 20th June, 2020. The aim of the workshop was to inspire students to achieve and to enable students to become independent, competent, promising businessmen and to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial skills. The Guest Speakers were Dr. Caroline Saini, Mr. Rahul Agrawal, Dr. Vipin Rai, Dr. Hephzibah John and Mr. Parv Parmar. The number of students benefitted by this workshop was 38. It was very interesting session.
- The Department of Economics organized a national webinar on “Development Strategies for Revival of India Economy after COVID-19” which held on 27th May 2020. Bajpai, Former Vice-Chancellor, Avdhesh Pratap University, Rewa, Gramodya University, Chitrakoot and Himanchal Pradesh University Shimla were the speakers of the function.
- Quiz Competition – The Department of Economics had conducted a Quiz Competition under the banner of the Economic Forum. The quiz was conducted in two phases. In the 1st phase 145 students from the various streams of UG and PG were participated.
- Budget Discussion – Department of Economics had organized Budget Discussion on 12th February 2018. In this discussion 18 students were participated. The expert comment was given by Dr. N.G. - The Department of Economics has organized a guest lecture on 13th February, 2019 on the topic “Inclusive Inter-Sectoral Development for Sustainability: Still a Dream”. Prof. A. Ranga Reddy, UGC – Emeritus Professor, Department of Economics, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, was the speaker of the function.
- Department of Economics conducted a quiz competition on 31st August 2018. The quiz was related with the current Economic issues. There were 20 students participated in the quiz competition. To organized this quiz competition the main aim was to help the students to aware the current condition of the economy.
2019-2020
- The Department of Economics has organized a ‘Nukkad Natika’ on the occasion of International Peace Day in the College campus, Jabalpur on 21st September 2019, In which the students have presented a Nukkad Natak on International Peace. 09 students participated in this activity. The name of the students are Shambhvi, Pranjali, Komal, Aayush, Ranjana, Nifat, Ankita, Tuhin and Shryansh.
- Two Days Workshop on “The Application of SPSS for Data Analysis” for Post graduates students in all streams organized by the Department of Economics. The workshop was conducted from 24th September 2019 to 25th September 2019 (02 Days). 47 students were attended this workshop. Dr. Jai Anand Shukul, (Dean, Academics) at LNCT engineering College, Jabalpur was the Resource Person for the workshop. In which sir gave insight into how the statistical tools are used in research through SPSS.
Group Discussion on Impact of Industrial Production on Import and Export
St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Jabalpur, Department of Economics has Organised Group Discussion under the banner of “Smararan Bharat Ratna Rajeev Gandhi” On 7th September 2019, under which the U.G. and P.G students have participated with enthusiasm. At the beginning of the program Post Graduate students have given input sessions on the respected topic “ Impact of industrial production on import & export”. 21 Students participated in group discussions.The students were divided into four groups and after the discussion every group has presented the outcomes of the discussion drawn by their respected groups. The group discussion was conducted successfully.
Guest Lecture On Entrepreneurship Development
- St. Aloysius College (Auto.), Jabalpur Department of Economics in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Cell has organized a Guest Lecture on 1st October 2019 on the topic “Entrepreneurship Development”. Mr. Prem Dubey, President, Jabalpur Chamber of Commerce was the speaker of the function. 90 students were attended this lecture.
