Dr. Neelanjana Pathak has been the Head of the Department of English at St. Aloysius’ Autonomous College, Jabalpur, since 2009. With over 37 years of experience in college teaching and administration, she has dedicated her career to refining the sensibilities of her students and transcending traditional texts. Dr. Pathak was awarded a Ph.D. for her doctoral dissertation on Charlotte Bronte’s autobiographical fiction. She has published over 25 critical papers, articles, reviews, and interviews in national and international journals and magazines. Additionally, she has co-edited four books and published four of her own, along with poems in both print and electronic sources. Her contributions to academia include invitations as chairperson, keynote speaker, and  invited talks on more than 25 occasions in various institutions. She served on the State Level Committee on Women’s Literacy and was awarded the ‘Saksharta Mitra Award’ in 2009. In 2010, she received the ‘Editor’s Choice Award’ for creative and critical writing from Home of Letters, India, and in 2017, she was honored with the ‘Emmanuel Kant Award’.

An active researcher, Dr. Pathak has supervised 24 MPhil dissertations and seven Ph.D. theses, with three more Ph.D. candidates currently under her guidance. She firmly believes in the adage, “What the mind can believe and conceive, it can achieve.”

Dr. Pathak has been a resource person at Academic Staff Colleges in Jabalpur and Raipur universities. She is the editor of “Ninad” and “JMRS,” multidisciplinary biannual journals, and was on the editorial board of an international journal on women published by Jabalpur University. She also serves on the advisory board of “Contemporary Vibes” and the editorial board of “Afflatus,” a quarterly international online journal.

In 2013, she presented a paper at Mansfield College, Oxford, which was well-received by the international audience. Recognizing that excellence is an ongoing journey, she regularly participates in seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Dr. Pathak played significant roles in the World Ramayan Conferences, serving as Chairperson of the Souvenir Committee in 2016, Co-Chairperson in 2020, and Co-Chairman of the Souvenir Committee in 2023 and also delivering talks from the international platform on different perspectives on the Ramayana. She previously headed the Central India Chapter of iSPELL, Indigenous Society for the Promotion of English Language and Literature.

As a mentor, Dr. Pathak believes that “the purpose of life is a life of purpose.” She aims to use her extensive experience in higher education to inspire young aspirants to transcend texts and serve both self and society. She seeks to be part of a winning team and to explore new frontiers, making every experience a teachable moment.

In 2023, she was conferred the “Fellow Membership” (F.H.O.L.I.) from THE HOME OF LETTERS, Bhubaneshwar, India.
