I, Rev. Dr. G. Vazhan Arasu, am the Principal of St. Aloysius College, (Autonomous, Reaccredited with ‘A+’ Grade (CGPA – 3.68/4.00) by NAAC and College with Potential for Excellence by UGC and DST supported FIST), Jabalpur M.P. I am also the Additional Director of St. Aloysius Institute of Technology, Jabalpur. Before becoming the Principal I have been a part of this esteemed institution in the capacity of Vice Principal for 13 years from 1st May 1999 to 31st October 2012. From the year 2013 I have been member as well as member coordinator of NAAC peer team visit to number of colleges in India. 

My personal academic achievements include a Doctoral Degree in Economics on “Impact of Globalization on Infrastructural Development in India Since 1981.”  I am also registered as a Research Guide in Economics.  I specialize in the field of Macro Economics, Indian Economics, Public Finance, Business Environment and Religious Studies. My other credentials include M.A., M. Phil., B. Th., and M.B.A.  I am an active member of the “The Indian Economic Association” since 2001. I am also a member of the Diocesan Commission for Higher and Professional   Education, Jabalpur since 2006 till date.  

Being in higher education I am actively involved in research and publication. I have authored 01 book and edited 23 books, published more than 71 articles and research papers in Journals, Books and Newspapers.  I have completed 03 Minor Research Projects and organized a National Seminar sponsored by UGC.  I have attended 8 international Conferences and 34 National Seminars / Conferences / Workshops.  

In addition to this I have also been resource person for number of Leadership, Human Resource Development and Quality initiative Programmes. I have been invited to conduct several Retreats, Recollections for Religious Sisters, brothers and Priests. I am also involved in conducting and organizing number of Orientation Programme for Married Couples, Principals and Teachers.  

I have also participated in number of enrichment programmes organized at National and International level. I have been entrusted with many challenging assignments and have held many responsible positions.  As the National Coordinator of World Wide Marriage Encounter, India, I represented the country in various parts of the world, for 04 years and conducted orientation programmes and meetings at the International and National level.  

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (An Central Government organization) has sent me as the coordinating member or as a member to more than 85 higher educational institutions in India to assess and to accredit institutions. Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh too has appointed in committees to help Colleges to achieve quality bench marking in the field of Higher Education. I have also entrusted with number of responsibilities in the Catholic Diocese of Jabalpur and also the Chairperson of various Committees and Editor to many magazines, etc. I have travelled widely across the globe and have exposure to the cultures and perceptions of the world.
