Red Cross Society of St. Aloysius College was founded in 2009. It is a voluntary humanitarian society which provides relief in times of disasters and emergencies. It also promotes healthcare. The main objective of this society is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity. The society tries to inculcate human values, helpfulness, cooperation and kindness among the students.

MISSION

The Mission of the Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized and even prevented and thus contribute to create more congenial climate for peace.

The Red Cross Society undertakes basically four types of programmes:

ACTIVITIES HELD BY THE SOCIETY 2023

Activity : Blood Donation Camp

With a vision that blood donation is service to mankind college Conducted Blood donation camp on 18th Jan 2024 for students and Faculty. Overall 150 units of blood were collected. The camp was great success with a large number of blood donors who donated blood a noble social cause.

   

Activity : Disaster Management

 One of the main objectives of Red Cross is to protect life and provide immediate relief to the victims of natural calamities such as floods, Cyclones, epidemics drought earthquakes, fire accidents etc. College conducted disaster management Activity on   21 September 2023 for all students. There were 68 students present.

ACTIVITIES HELD BY THE SOCIETY – 2017-18

NCC and Red Cross Society organizes Blood Donation Camp at St. Aloysius College

With a vision that blood donation is service to humankind and by donating blood we can help a needy and save a precious life, the blood donation camp was organized with the collaboration of and NCC and Red Cross Society of the college  on  28th March 2018 in ‘Prerna’  Auditorium  of the college. The technical staff of the blood bank units of Rani Lady Elgen Durgawati Hospital, Shaskiya Seth Govindas Zila Hospital as well as by Indian Red Cross society and Jabalpur was present for collecting blood. Overall 119 units of blood were collected. This camp was a great success with a huge number of blood donors who donated blood for a noble social service. Both teachers and students enthusiastically participated in this Blood Donation Camp. Donors were given certificate for their contribution and initiative, by both the Blood Bank Organisations The Principal Rev. Dr. G. Vazhan Arasu, Vice Principals Rev. Fr. Ben Anton Rose, Dr. Kallol Das, NCC Officers, Capt. Dr. Sonal Rai, Sub Lt. Dr. Sanjay Rajak, Lt. Amit Yadav, Sub Lt. Mary  Raymer,  Red  Cross  Society  In  charge  Mr.  Prakash  Lange  were  present  to encourage this Social Service activity.

Workshop on ‘a life saving measure with Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)’

The Red Cross Society of St. Aloysius College has organized a workshop on “How to save a life with Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)?” with the collaboration of Suvidha Hospital, Jabalpur M.P. on 22/01/2018 in the ‘Prerna’ hall of the college. In this seminar Dr. Balkrishan Dang and team of Suvidha Hospital have explained and demonstrated CPR process to the students. After the explanation, they distribute some first aid medicine among the students. Students learnt new and essential things about how to save life in emergency situation.

ACTIVITIES HELD BY THE SOCIETY – 2016-17

Blood Donation Camp

With a vision that blood donation is service to humankind and by donating blood we can help a needy and save a precious life, the blood donation camp was organized with the collaboration of NSS and NCC on 17/09/2016 in the ‘Prerna’ hall of the college. The technical staff of the blood bank units of Rani Durgawati Hospital and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur was present for collecting blood. Overall 258 units of blood were collected. This camp was a great success with a huge number of blood donors who donated blood for a noble social service. Both teachers and students enthusiastically participated in this Blood Donation Camp. Donors were given certificate from then on, by both the organizations i.e. Rani Durgawati Hospital and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College as well as by Indian Red Cross society.


Workshop on ‘Saving a Life with CPR’

The Red Cross Society of St. Aloysius College has organized a workshop on “How to save a life with Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)?” with the collaboration of Suvidha Hospital, Jabalpur M.P. on 17/01/2017 in the ‘Prerna’ hall of the college. In this seminar Dr. Balkrishan Dang and team of Suvidha Hospital have explained and demonstrated CPR process to the students. They share some new experiences with them. After the explanation, they distribute some first aid medicine the students. Students feel very happy to learn new things about how to save life and essential things about the first aid.


LIFE SAVERS

Under the Red Cross Society a voluntary group of teachers and students are trying to serve the humanity by providing blood to the needy and vulnerable people. If anyone met with some accident or injury they can contact this group and the group will be there to save a life by giving blood as soon as possible.
